Here are some ideas for reducing global warming. The idea is to explore these and more in Indigobo discussions.
Idea 1: Individual carbon emissions database
A database of individuals’ carbon emissions reported on an annual basis and any contributions towards reducing carbon emissions (for example on offsets or other environmental projects).
Idea 2: Government carbon reduction points
In addition to submitting your annual tax return, individuals could voluntarily submit data about practices and financial contributions towards reducing emissions and be issued with government points.
Idea 3: Absolute-hold property for massive environmental contributors
Currently, the strongest title an individual can hold on a property is freehold. If an individual has a debt claim, a tort claim or inheritance tax, they may be forced to sell the property.
For an individual who spends GBP 100M towards a government fund for reducing carbon emissions, they could be allowed to purchase a property in the UK worth GBP 2M, which would be absolute hold, a title which can be passed on outside inheritance tax for two generations. Furthermore, even if the individual went bankrupt, had a personal claim or tax claim against them, they would retain the property.
